Walk into any showroom or scroll any mattress website and you'll meet the same wall: endless products, identical adjectives, and a price tag as the only real difference you can see. "Premium." "Handcrafted." "Hotel quality." None of it answers the only question that matters — is this the right mattress for the way I sleep?
Two people can lie on the same mattress and have opposite experiences. A side sleeper who runs warm needs different things from a back sleeper with a bad lower back. The industry knows this — and still sells everyone the same brochure.

We don't score mattresses from brochures. Trained assessors test each one hands-on — firmness, pressure relief, support, temperature, edges, movement — under a documented protocol, signed off by an independent reviewer. Manufacturer firmness claims frequently don't survive this process. Ours do, because they're ours.
We publish the trade-offs
Every product page lists what a mattress is genuinely best for — and what it isn't ideal for. No retailer's marketing team writes either list; the assessed scores do. A recommendation is only worth trusting if the same system is allowed to say "not this one for you."

The National Bed Federation independently audits its member manufacturers against a strict Code of Practice — covering fire safety compliance, cleanliness of fillings and honest trade descriptions. When a mattress is made by an NBF approved manufacturer, you can trust what it's made from, that it meets UK fire regulations, and that the claims on the label are accurate.
We set NBF approval at brand level, so every mattress from an approved manufacturer carries the signal across our catalogue.
